 Sandlapper's Vision

Sandlapper will prepare every student academically, socially, and emotionally to be creative leaders in a global society.

Greetings Sandlapper Families,

I hope your students enjoyed their first week back with a new Principal! I have absolutely loved every moment of my first week here at Sandlapper. The students are a joy to work with and I am confident that this will be a great year for all of us.

I am excited to get to know your children and work with them to reach their full potential. I am committed to creating a positive and supportive learning environment for all students and I believe that with your support, we can achieve great things.

Thank you for entrusting your children to me and please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. I am here to support you and your child's education. Looking forward to seeing you at our CS & Math Family Night on January 10th where you can come meet me, your new principal.

Sincerely,
Dr. Prowell

FEDERAL IMPACT SURVEY

What is it?

Richland School District Two schools are funded primarily by local taxes. However, due to the large federal presence in our area and the tax exemptions available to federally-connected personnel, businesses, and agencies, Richland School District Two is eligible to apply for federal Impact Aid funds.

Impact Aid is a federal program designed to assist local school districts that enroll federally connected students. Federally connected students are children of active duty uniformed services personnel, children who live on federal property, and children whose parents work on federal property. The Impact Aid Program funds become a part of Richland School District Two’s general operating budget and are critical to maintaining high standards for educational excellence.

What do I have to do?

We need your assistance in identifying students with federal connections. This year families can complete this form online via Parent Portal. All you have to do is log into your parent portal account and complete the Impact Aid Survey. The survey can be completed in 5 minutes or less. The survey must be completed for each of your students.

Complete the survey TODAY!

Please click the link below to log into Parent Portal, and complete the survey today. We encourage all families to complete it as soon as possible to ensure we have accurate data before the closing date on January 20, 2023.

One Book, One School
When we return to school in January 2023, our 2nd - 5th graders will begin reading a fictional novel titled The Wild RobotThe Wild Robot by Peter Brown is a charming tale of a robot who is washed ashore on an island inhabited only by animals. ROZZUM unit 7134, or Roz, is not designed for the wilderness, but she is programmed with survival instincts and the ability to learn. At first, the other animals call her a monster, but after she adopts an orphaned gosling, she gradually becomes part of the animal community and makes the wilderness her home. The content is very rich and covers many topics, including positive mindsets, stereotypes, acceptance, and violence. Feel free to check this book out from your local library to pre-read it or read along with your child as we progress through the chapters in January.

Directory Information in Parent Portal
Some of you may have received an email from Richland Two regarding your student's directory information. If you initially chose the option to not allow Richland Two to share certain information, such as name and/or photo this means that we at Sandlapper are also not able to include your child in any publications including but not limited to our yearbook, award/promotion programs, Family Night celebrations, honor rolls, etc. If you would like to change your student's choice so we can include your child(ren) in publications, such as the yearbook, watch the video below.
